Around the year 1580, the original Keele Hall was built for Ralph Sneyd. It was then re- designed by the architect Anthony Salvin in 1851 and re-built. In 1948, with the aid of grant funding, the Keele estate was purchased from another Ralph Sneyd for the establishment of the University College of North Staffordshire, which in 1962, became Keele University. For over 40 years, Keele Hall has been operating as a conference and events venue.
Keele Hall is a picturesque setting with lawns sweeping down to an ornamental lake, an arboretum, and extensive woodlands, which were landscaped by William Emes in the 18th century. The Hall is home to one of the finest displays of Ironstone and Porcelain, the Raven Mason Collection.
Keele University is nestled in the north of Staffordshire, midway between Birmingham & Manchester and a short distance from the city of Stoke-on-Trent. Our central location means we are easily accessible from the main UK motorways, whilst having excellent links to Stoke-on-Trent & Crewe rail and bus services.
